Montreal Doula - Doulas in Montreal

The word “doula” comes from Ancient Greek δούλη (doulē), and refers to a woman of service. There are 2 different kinds of doulas that provide different support before, during and after the birth.

  1. Labor/birth support doulas are persons who help with the emotional and physical comfort needs of laboring women to aid in the labor process
  2. Postpartum doulas are hired to support the woman after birth, usually in the family's home

In Canada, labor/birth/postpartum doulas are not required to be certified. However, certification is available through several different organizations.

Below you will find a list of some Montreal doulas.
